How the Body Hijacks the Mind

"This book, like everything Jacquelyn Sheppard sets her mind to accomplish, is a work of wisdom."
—Penelope Edwards-Conrad, M.D., Integrative Neurologist

Do you feel like depression, anxiety, or addiction have hijacked your life? Mental and emotional disorders impact every part of society—and disrupt life for even the most spiritually devout, intelligent and respected people. Unfortunately, many who suffer from these devastating disorders seek healing through costly, and sometimes harmful, counseling and medications—measures which may bring temporary relief but do not fully correct the underlying problem.

Jacquelyn Sheppard exposes the vital connection between your body, mind, and spirit—and gives you practical tools to:

  • understand the connection between your mind and body and discover root causes for such illnesses as depression, addiction, bipolar disorder, OCD, and others.
  • identify the life cycles of each disorder —prenatal, childhood, adolescence and adulthood— so you can overcome each cycle using the right tools.
  • gain practical “know-how” to effectively combat these disorders through life-giving steps of health transformation.

Silent Takeover delivers ancient wisdom, accessible science, simple nutrition, and life experience while providing a clear blueprint to help you pioneer a new life.

I am not into medical protocol, cannot understand medical equations but have had more than my share of life-threatening medical events. So I do know the difference between health and sickness.  I have happily chosen health over sickness. Jackie and the information in this book have been a part of my pursuit in implementing that decision.I am fairly certain that this book and its author represent a major breakthrough in the protocol of achieving and preserving good health.  Everybody who is searching for the keys of overall happiness and good health should read this book!

Jacquelyn Sheppard’s book Silent Takeover gives an eye-opening look into the hidden dangers of seemingly innocuous elements in our environment.  Our brains are not separate from our bodies. Foods, sound, and light affect the production or inhibition the production of chemicals in our bodies that affect the way we think and behave. Depression, anxiety, addiction often have a physical as well as spiritual root. Jackie has been researching information for years and wants to help those who have been hijacked so they can regain both good health in body and mind.

As Christ’s Body, we are called by our Lord to minister to those who are sick and broken. Jesus commissioned His disciples to go forth with His Good News and “heal the sick.” This is a vital aspect of the gospel. In Silent Takeover, Jackie Sheppard offers well-researched insight, wisdom, and tools to respond to and care for those with emotional, mental, and addictive disorders.  Most significantly, the final chapters powerfully explore how prayer, worship, and community can make a life-changing difference to respond to these challenges in practical ways. Armed with this knowledge, the Church (and that means you and me) can become beacons of hope and healing for those who suffer among us. Read this timely and provocative guide and join God’s army of healers.
