LEARN THE TRUE HISTORY
OF RELIGIOUS FREEDOM IN AMERICA
AND WHAT YOU CAN DO
TO PROTECT THE PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE!
Atheist Michael Newdow is determined to remove "under God" from the Pledge of Allegiance. His allies in this battle are members of the 9th Federal Court of Appeals in San Francisco, the American Civil Liberties Union, and anti-Christian forces.
America was founded on Christians principles, and our system of government is based upon the belief that we are a nation "under God." Our rights come from God, not from government.
Learn what the Founding Fathers believe about God and government-and why the idea of "separation of church and state" is nothing more than a myth created by one Supreme Court decision in 1947. Yet, that one decision has result in dozens of ill-informed rulings that have undetermined religious freedom and exalted secularism as the state-protected religion in America.
The attack on the Pledge is simply one part of this ongoing war against religious freedom in America-a war waged by Newdow, the ACLU, and others.
This book shows you how you can fight back against Newdow and the anti-Christians forces in the ACLU. WE must take back our nation from the secularists who seek to deny religious liberty!

Preface xiii
1. America: One Nation under God 1
The men and women who settled in the New World came for religious freedom
to establish a system of government based upon God's Word
2. God ad Concepts of Government 21
The Founding Fathers understood that Christianity was the basis of morality, and
that morality was the glue that held a civil society together.
3. Background of the Pledge of Allegiance 41
The Pledge of Allegiance was written during a turbulent period in American history
as immigrants were flooding America's shores from Europe. The Pledge helped these
immigrants understand the promises of living under freedom in America.
4. Challenges to the Pledge 63
The Pledge of Allegiance remained unchallenged until the 1930's, when
Jehovah's Witnesses, aided by the American Civil Liberties Union, began
filing lawsuits against it.
5. "Under God" in the Pledge 79
The words "under God" in the Pledge were added in 1954 during the
height of the cold war, when there was fear over Communist subversion of America.
The phrase "under God" was added to emphasize the clear difference between America
and atheistic Communist government has considered the all-powerful state to be god.
America was founded upon the conviction that all rights come from God not from the government.
6. The Modern Crusade against the Pledge and Religious Symbols 99
The United States Supreme Court, in its 1947 Everson decision, set in motion
a series of ill-informed religious freedom rulings that have nearly stripped America
of its religious heritage. The attack on the Pledge is only one part of the ACLU's decades-long
obvious hatred of religious liberty.
7. Judicial Activism and the Pledge 123
Atheist Michael Newdow who wants "under God" removed from the Pledge, has
found friends in the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals in San Francisco. Many of the
powerful judges on this court are secularist who are using their immense power
to destroy religious liberty in America.
8. Protecting the Pledge and Our Heritage of Rights 147
The "Pledge Protection Act", sponsored by U.S. Representative Todd Akin (R-MO), is designed
to strip federal courts of any authority to issue rulings on religious freedom cases.
This desperately needed legislation is necessary to restore religious freedom to America.
Citizen action is crucial if Congress is to pass this important bill!!

Endnotes 181
"William Murray" shows us convincingly how the attack against the phrase "under God" in the Pledge of Allegiance is a clarion call to those of us who love America and appreciate the importance of our religious heritage. In this Second Farewell Address, President George Washington warned that anyone who labors to undermine religion and morality cannot be called a true patriot. Religion and morality are the twin pillars upon which America was founded. Today there are forces actively engaged in removing both pillars. America is great because it is based on a solid foundation. That foundation is a belief in God, and therefore expressions of that belief pervade our documents, our institutions, and our customs. But America is not impregnable. As it was in the beginning, today's true patriots must fight for freedom. The battle for the soul of America is winnable, but we must show up and become engaged to win"
