of Christian life, crossing time and transcending cultures, yet
many passages are perplexing.

families to be his disciples (Luke 14), you will learn the context
of each passage and how it applies to us today. This book will help
you be more confident about interpreting all of God's Word
accurately.

“For starters, the source of the information was an issue. Paul did not want someone filled with demons to be testifying to their identity and mission. Even Jesus did not want a demon to testify to his identity in Luke 4:34 because he did not want the truth about him to be connected to the demonic. There is no reason to affirm the testimony of demons to the point that people start believing what they say, horrible creatures that they are, even if what they say is true.” (Page 24)
“Instead of condemning us instantly, which he has the right to do, he gives common grace to all people and his saving grace to some.” (Page 9)
“Feel free to read a chapter or two and put it down, and then come back later to digest more at a different time. In addition to providing brief context to each verse or story and addressing any difficult or perplexing issues that surface, I offer some practical applications and suggestions as to why it is in the Bible.” (Page 10)
“The testimony of Scripture is that Jesus as a human could still grow, learn, and mature in ‘wisdom and stature’ (Luke 2:52) in his human mind, and yet as God he could ‘know all things’ (John 21:17) in his divine mind.” (Page 87)
“descriptive and prescriptive. The descriptive is simply telling you what happened; the prescriptive” (Page 94)
